Inspirasi Story - If we learn about language, we must also learn about pronouns and phonetics. Phonetics is how we say the sounds of letters. In the Indonesian language, usually 1 letter = 1 sound. Indonesian just have 23 konsonan, and 10 vokal.

A person who cannot pronounce the letter “R” and usually changes it to “L”? We called Cadel/Lisping. Lisping is a speech problem caused by how the tongue, teeth, or mouth are used when speaking. Because of One small sound can change the meaning of a word! So, today i will tell a short story about Lisping/Cadel.

Long ago, there was a big event called Fathul Makkah. The Prophet Muhammad SAW and his friends came back to the city of Mecca.

The Prophet wanted peace. He told his leaders to say:

"Al-yaum yaumal marhamah" (Today is the day of love).

But, one friend of the Prophet shouted:

"Al-yaum yaumal malhamah!" (Today is the day of war!)

Why? The people in Mecca were very scared. They thought there would be a fight. Abu Sufyan, a leader in Mecca, asked the Prophet, "Is this true? Is today a day of war?"

The Truth: The Prophet Muhammad SAW smiled. He explained that his friend was cadel (he had a lisp).

The friend could not say the letter "R". He tried to say Marhamah (Love/Mercy). But it sounded like Malhamah (War/Killing). The Prophet told everyone not to worry. Today is a day of kindness and peace, not war.

Moral of the Story

Be Careful with Words: One small letter can change "Love" to "War."

Be Kind: The Prophet did not get angry. He explained the mistake with a smile.

Check the Truth: Don't be scared too fast. Sometimes, it is just a misunderstanding!

In the month of Ramadan, we must control our speech, manage our emotions, and make sure something is true before we speak so we do not cause misunderstandings. Ramadan teaches us to choose kind and good words.
