Inspirasi Story - It just about a small toy… a Slinky.

Yes, a toy.

But honestly, this toy is very wise. Before this moment, i didn't know about it. I think it like a bracelet but it's a simple toy. Can you play it? How do you know procedure to play it?

Yeah, after I am looking for in the internet. It's just simple procedure but have an amazing applying.

From this toy, we can get many important to learn. I will share 3 of them.

  1. Stretch… but Don’t Break
A Slinky can be stretched again and again. It always comes back. But it does not break. Cause  it didn't use again if it's broken. We as teachers are like that. I think, when we have many job and then we are busy. Sometimes, we are pulled by lesson plans, reports, student's parents, and behavior students too.

Sometimes we feel tired… or very tired.

          But Allah reminds us:

﴿لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا﴾

‘Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.’

(QS. Al-Baqarah: 286)

So if today feels heavy, remember:

Allah knows we can handle it.

Be flexible, not broken. Keep spirit, don't give up

      2. Problems Are Stairs, Not Enemies

A Slinky cannot move on a flat floor. It needs stairs. Problems are our stairs to grow up more better again. Difficult students, noisy classes, hard material/project. All problems help us move forward.  And when class is difficult, maybe it is not a problem. Maybe it is a lesson to us and make us more growing up before that moment.

      3. Mood Is Contagious (Spread to another around us)

When the top of a Slinky moves, the bottom follows. In class, students follow our mood. If we come smiling, students feel safe. If we come angry… students become very good at copying anger. So be careful

The Prophet ﷺ said:

«تَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ»

‘Your smile to your brother is charity.’

(HR. Tirmidzi, no. 1956)

“A smile is simple. But in class, it is powerful.”

My conclusion from this speech today,

Let’s be like a Slinky:

flexible, patient, and still moving.

We may fall at moment, but believe it we can bounce back again.

Happy teaching. Let’s bend, not break.
